Md police: Woman injured in Md. car accident

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland State Police Department said a woman was taken to the hospital Saturday after a vehicle crash that happened on Rt. 15 in the area of Old Frederick Road.

Police said, investigation shows that a 2007 Subaru Impreza, driven by Alison L. Duncan, 55, Bronx, NY, left the road and went into the center median.

According to authorities, the vehicle then went behind the jersey wall and hit it. Police said the vehicle then hit a Ford F-600 that was parked behind the wall.

The Ford was pushed into other pieces of construction items, authorities said. Police said the construction equipment belonged to Brawner Construction.

No work was going on on the construction site at the time of the accident. Police said, the construction company was informed about the damaged equipment.

Duncan was taken to the hospital by helicopter, police said. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.

The road was blocked off for about an hour, authorities said.
