Md. police make graffiti and marijuana arrest

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick Police arrested a 19-year-old in Overlook Park, Saturday in connection with a graffiti complaint and possession of marijuana.

Police said deputies responded to Overlook Park, in Frederick City regarding a graffiti complaint. Authorities said they determined that several people were inside of the park spraying items with spray paint.

Police were able to find one of the suspects and arrest him. Darnell Omar Hampton, 19, of Frederick, Md. admitted to being responsible for the graffiti and spray painting. Authorities said they found spray paint cans and marijuana in the backpack he was wearing.

Hampton is being charged with two counts of destruction of property, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of possession of marijuana/intent to distribute and one count of drug paraphernalia.
