Md. man indicted for soliciting minor

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Frederick man was indicted Friday for harassing a 15-year-old girl at the time to send pornographic images via e-mail.

The Frederick Police Department received a harassment complain in October 2012. The investigation revealed that George Robert Staton was sending harassing e-mails to a 16-year-old victim, authorities said.

Staton had an online relationship with the victim after seeking her out and making contact with her, authorities said. The investigation shows Staton sought the victim out specifically.

According to authorities, Staton started sexually soliciting the teen when she was 15-years-old over the internet. Staton solicited the victim to produce pornographic pictures, where were sent to him over the internet.

The case was presented to the Frederick County Grand Jury on February 28, 2014 and an indictment was issued charging Station with crimes associated with the sexual solicitation of a minor and the solicitation of a minor to produce child porn, authorities said.

Deputies found Station at his home and arrested him Friday. He was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center pending an appearance before a Judge of the Circuit Court of Frederick County Maryland.
