Md. man arrested for assaulting man with sword

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick Police arrested a man Friday for assaulting a man with a sword.

Police said they responded to the 500 block of Carrollton Drive, in Frederick City for the report of an assault.

According to authorities, the suspect was having an argument with the victim. The suspect returned to the home with a sword. He pointed the sword at the victim's neck and threatened him, authorities said.

Police said the victim was able to block the sword when the suspect swung the sword in the direction of his chest.

Shan Edward Oney, 31, of Frederick, Md. was arrested and charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Police said the victim was treated for his wounds at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
