FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick Police Department arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a rape that happened early Monday morning in Fredrick, Md., according to Frederick Police.
The incident happened around 4:04 a.m. at a home located at E Fifth Street, authorities said. Officers got to the scene and found the victim, a woman. The suspect was identified as Khiree Denziel Curry. Police said the two know each other.
The victim went to sleep and was awoken by the assault, authorities said. Police said residents helped the victim after the assault had already happened and Curry was forced out of the home.
The suspect was located and arrested around 8:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Heather Ridge Drive, police said. Curry tried to flee during the arrest, authorities said.
Officers learned that Curry had broken into an apartment after the assault through a window. Police said Curry knew this victim prior to the burglary and did not have permission to enter the home.
Curry is being charged with one count of second degree rape, one count of fourth degree sex offense, one count of second degree assault, two counts of fourth degree burglary of a dwelling and one count of resisting arrest, police said.
