Man charged after selling marijuana to undercover cop

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested after City of Frederick Police say he sold marijuana instead of heroin to an undercover officer on Thursday evening.

Police say they had suspected that Donald William Holt was a heroin dealer. An undercover officer arranged to buy some heroin from Holt and they met in the 1300 block of Motter Avenue for the transaction.

The undercover officer immediately realized that instead of heroin, he had been sold a quantity of marijuana, say police. Holt apologized for the error before being taken into custody, according to police.

Holt was taken to Central Booking and charged with Possession Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Distribution Marijuana, and Possession Paraphernalia.
