Jury selection underway in Marcus Jones murder case

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- The trial starts Monday for the man accused of killing Friendly High School student Marcus Antonio Jones last year.

Akil Ings is charged with the murder of Marcus Antonio Jones. Jones was shot and killed after leaving a house party in Fort Washington in January 2013.

Police also initially arrested Kquantae Fisher, but charges were later dropped. Fisher was set to testify against Ings when he was killed inside his Fort Washington home in September 2013. Investigators have yet to determine why Fisher was killed.

According to authorities, Ings, Fisher and Jones were members of rival gangs, Danger Boyz and Baby Haiti.

Jury selection begins Monday. Opening arguments are expected to take place Tuesday.
