Fire at apartment in Southeast, DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officials responded to a fire at an apartment building in Southeast, D.C. on Thursday night.

The fire started at a second floor apartment located at 610 46th Place S.E.. The fire which was in the kitchen has been put out. An adult woman was evaluated on the scene for smoke inhalation. Officials said a child was also rescued in the fire. "Child rescued & being brought out," officials said in a tweet.

One minor injury was reported due to the fire, officials said.
