$1.5 million damage to building after fire

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA9) -- Falls Church fire officials investigated a two-alarm fire at an office building in the 100 block of S. Washington Street on Friday.

The fire started around 1:00 p.m. at a commercial building located on 150 S. Washington Street. Around 80 people were evacuated due to the fire. No injures were reported, police said.

Officials say the fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters from both Arlington and Fairfax County.

The City of Falls Church Fire Marshal has ruled the fire as accidental. The damage is estimated to be around $1.5 million.
