Nearly 5,000 people lose power after car crashes into utility pole Va.

FAIRFAX CO., VA (WUSA9) - Nearly 5,000 people lost power after a vehicle struck a utility pole in Fairfax County, Va.

The incident happened just before 7 p.m. on I-66 Eastbound near Monument Dr. It blocked three lanes and caused heavy traffic.

Police said there were no fatalities. Some people had minor injuries. 

According to officials, 4,896 Dominion Power customers lost power.
