FAIRFAX CO., VA. (WUSA9) - A man was charged with impersonating a police officer and simple assault on June 25.
A 38-year-old man was driving down the road and saw a bicyclist riding in the middle of the road. He honked his horn at the bicyclist to move over and passed. A 56-year-old man also on the road saw this and stopped, held up a badge and asked the bicyclist if she needed help. She said yes.
The older man sped up to the other driver and pulled in front of him to stop him, he showed the badge again and told the driver to leave the bicyclist alone. He said he was a police officer.
According to a report from Fairfax County Police, the older man then followed the younger driver and ran his car into the younger man’s car. Officers investigated and then arrested the older man.
Police said the man impersonating the police officer is Eric Malguy of Fairfax. Malguy was charged with impersonating a police officer and simple assault. There is no arrest photograph of him at this time.
