Empty car found in Md. creek

BELTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police are investigating after a car was found in a creek Thursday morning.

The car was found around 10:04 a.m. near the intersection of Powder Mill Road and Cherry Hill Road.

There was no one in the car at the time, but police say it appears that someone was driving the car, which left the roadway and landed in the creek.

Police and fire officials "trolled" the water and the wooded area for possible occupants of the car but were unable to find anyone.

The investigation is ongoing.
