Elderly woman rescued after floor collapses at Oxon Hill home

An elderly woman was rescued after a floor collapsed inside of an Oxon Hill home Tuesday morning.

OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- An elderly woman has been rescued after she fell into the basement of an Oxon Hill home when the first floor partially collapsed. 

Prince George's County Fire and EMS said the partial collapse happened in the 7500 block of Abbington Dr. in Oxon Hill at a one-story house. The first floor partially collapsed into the basement. 

Crews were able to get the woman in her eighties out of the house. Officials say she is in good condition was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Officials said the woman was in the living room when the collapse happened.
