Donate to USO's Turkeys for Troops

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - The USO of Metropolitan Washington and WUSA9 are teaming up again to raise money to thank our military families this holiday season.

DONATE HERE: Turkeys For Troops Telethon

There are 500,000 active-duty military personnel in the D.C. Metropolitan area. We'd like to thank them by providing holiday food baskets. It's part of a program called Turkeys for Troops.

Chyrece Campbell is a super mom. Help military moms like Chyrece by donating to the USO.

For many of our military members, this will be the first holiday meal they've had with their families in a very long time. Be a part of creating special holiday moments for them and their families and show your support by thanking them with a holiday meal.

The holiday baskets will contain canned goods, stuffing and pie makings, corn bread mix and a gift card for a fresh turkey or ham. USO-Metro is working directly with military leaders to identify families in the region that need our help the most.

The suggested donation is $50.00 to cover the cost of one food basket. Tune in to the annual WUSA9 Turkeys for Troops Telethon on Veteran's Day, November 10, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to learn more about the lives touched by your donations.

On behalf of the USO of Metropolitan Washington and our soldiers, sailors and airmen, thank you in advance for participating in Turkeys for Troops.
