Woman tries to abduct child on board Metrobus, police say

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - A woman tried to take a young boy who was on his way to school Wednesday morning, Metro Transit Police said.

The 7-year-old was on board the 92 Metrobus with his 13-year-old sister. According to police, a woman asked the child, “Where are your parents?” When the boy responded that he was with his sister, the suspect told him, “When I get off this bus, you’re coming with me. We going to the feds.”

Police said the suspect then told the older sibling, “Like I said, he coming with me.”

The woman is described as 30 to 50 years old, approximately 5’2” to 5’5” in height, 160 to 170 pounds, brown eyes, and brown hair in a short Afro style.

Metro Transit Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a 7-year-old boy aboard a 92 Metrobus this morning.

MTPD detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed this incident aboard the 92 bus this morning. Anyone with information is urged to call the Metro Transit Police Criminal Investigations Division at (301) 955-5000 or text "MyMTPD" (696873).
