Woman found shot dead in her home in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Metropolitan Police said Friday they found a 53-year-old D.C. woman dead inside of a residence located in SE, D.C.

Police said they responded to the 1200 block of Howison Place, Southwest around 4:15 a.m.

According to authorities, they found a woman unconscious and unresponsive inside of the home. Police said the woman suffered from a gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Mary Anne Thomas of SW, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
