Woman dies after being struck by truck

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A Maryland woman was killed while riding a scooter in D.C. on Friday.

36-year-old Nadia Sophie Seiler of Wheaton was riding her scooter when she collided with a flatbed truck, police said.

Seiler was riding southbound in the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue NW when the truck made a left turn from the northbound lane of Connecticut Avenue onto 36th Street and crossed into the path of the scooter.

The operator of the truck stayed on the scene and Seiler was transported to the hospital where she late succumbed to her injuries.
