Woman assaulted after mistaking car for Uber in NW DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A woman was sexually assaulted at knife point after police say she mistook a car for anĀ Uber car Saturday in Northwest, D.C.

The incident happened in the 3500 block of Macomb Street NW between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Police say a woman entered a four door silver sedan, thinking it was an Uber car.

After entering the car, police say the driver sexually assaulted the woman at knife point.

The suspect is described by police as Middle Eastern male, early thirties, with black curly hair.

DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
