Wilson High School closed after acid spill

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Wilson High School in Northwest is closed for the day after an acid spill at the aquatic center.

The call for the spill came around 9:16 a.m. and units arrived around 9:19 a.m., officials say.

Wilson High School students were evacuated to Deal Middle School. School officials say they are in the process of sending students home for the day because the building is not safe for students to return.

Any student who requires additional help or has transportation needs will remain at Deal, officials said.

Parents have been notified and all students are safe.

Officials say a worker struck a pipe with acid. DC Fire and EMS transported a victim in critical condition.
