WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - If you don't know what Wawa is, you've been missing out. But it won't be for long.
The Philadelphia-based convenience store and gas station chain will be opening stores in DC soon!
Why is this exciting? Wawa is not only known for being a relatively cheap gas station, but also for it's food. It's often compared to Royal Farms or Sheetz, but people from the Tri-State area around Philadelphia will tell you it's the better option.
Made-to-order, customizable hoagies (or subs), delicious coffee, macaroni and cheese, fresh salads, iced tea and more are frequent popular items from the store.
Right now, you can find Wawa out in parts of Prince George's County, Maryland or Chantilly, Virginia.
But two new locations are opening this summer just outside DC in Virginia:
- 23055 Oakgrove Road Sterling, VA 20166
- 9471 Liberia Ave. Manassas, VA 20110
And according to Popville, more locations are coming to DC! We'll soon learn where those will be.
