Violence in DC: 6 shootings, 1 stabbing reported overnight

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Six shootings and one stabbing were reported overnight in the D.C. area, Metropolitan police said. One person is dead and others were injured. 

All of the incidents happened between 11:10 p.m. Tuesday and 4:10 a.m. Wednesday. 

The most recent shooting happened at 4:10 a.m. in the  4200 block of 6th St. in Southeast, D.C. The victim was transported. 

A shooting happened around 3:08 a.m. in the 2100 block of Minnesota, Ave. in Southeast, D.C. Police said a man was shot in the toe. There was a lookout for a black man, standing 5'6" tall, wearing all black and driving a red Monte Carlo. He was armed with a gun. 

Another shooting was reported around 1:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Chesapeake, St. in Southeast, D.C. A woman was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was conscious when she was taken to the hospital. There is no information on a motive or possible suspects. 

Police responded to a shooting at 1:35 a.m. in the 3900 block of 1st St., in Southwest, D.C. A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was also conscious when he was transported to the hospital. 

Officers responded to a stabbing in the 3300 block of Sherman Ave. in Northwest, D.C. There is currently no information on a victim. 

A fatal shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the unit block of Galveston St. in Southwest, D.C. Police said they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation. The man has been identified as 46-year-old George Denny Jr., of Southwest, DC.  

Police said the earliest incident happened around 11:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of W Street in Northwest, D.C. A juvenile boy was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The shooting remains under investigation.
