Thursday Pothole Alert: 27th Street, again

It was exactly one month ago we told you about cars driving on the wrong side of the street to avoid all the potholes.

Well, Walter Abbott says almost all the repairs the District made to the road after our initial report are for not. "The potholes are back in earnest," writes Abbott.

This is not uncommon. Road crews are making temporary patches to potholes right now because of all the cold weather we have been having recently. They need consistently warm temperatures to make permanent fixes. And by the looks of 27th Street a major repaving job may be necessary. Deep grooves make the street look like a stream in some places.

WUSA9 is reporting the problem to the District Department of Transportation again. They promise to make repairs to potholes within 3 business days of getting a complaint.
