Suspect charged for 3 related DC robberies

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department have arrested and charged a suspect who armed with a rifle or shotgun tried to rob at least three different people Wednesday morning, police say.

The attempted robberies happened in the area of Sherman Circle, NW. Police say all three reports came within 25 minutes of each other, less than a mile apart.

Two people were robbed in the 5000 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 7:25 a.m., and the same suspect attempted two other robberies before that.

On the same day around 9:00 a.m., Police arrested a juvenile male and charged him with 'two counts of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery while Armed and one count of Armed Robbery,' police said.

There were no injuries or shots fired in any of the three incidents.
