Suspect arrested for burglary in NW DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) – A man was arrested for a burglary at a home in the 3700 block of Oliver Street, NW, say D.C. police.

Wednesday afternoon, officers responded to the home for the report of a burglary. According to police, the suspect forced his way into the home, assaulted one of the occupants, and demanded property from another occupant.

Officers searching in the area found the suspect and tried to stop him. The suspect ran and was pursued by the officers, say police. He was caught in the 5500 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW.

Police tell us that the suspect was identified as 57-year-old Cochise Darnell Hudgens of Southeast, DC.

He was arrested and charged with Burglary One while Armed.
