Police searching for suspect in DC sex assault

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Police need your help identifying a suspect wanted for a sexual assault in NE DC.

Around 6:30 a.m., police said the suspect approached the female victim in the  1100 Block of Penn Street, Northeast.  The suspect pulled out a handgun and forced the victim into the alley.

The suspect then robbed the victim and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is being described as a short black male in his late thirties with a dark complexion. He was wearing dark clothing and was armed with a handgun. 

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.  Crime Solvers of Washington, DC currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for any crime committed in the District of Columbia.
