Police search for man who sexually assaulted woman in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a man who a woman says sexually assaulted her in NW, D.C. Sunday evening.

The woman was sexually assaulted in the 3900 block of Georgia Avenue, NW between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., authorities said.

The man is being described as a black man, about 5'6'' to 5'7'' tall and with a light complexion, police said. The suspect has a beard, black hair, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with writing on the front and blue jeans.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
