Police release sketch of Glover Park assault suspect

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- United States Park Police need your help identifying a man in connection with a sexual assault in Glover Archbold Park.

The incident happened on April 1 at approximately 8:50 p.m. in the 3700 block of Canal Road, NW.

Police say the victim was walking in the 3100 block of K Street NW near the Georgetown Waterfront when she was accosted by a suspect from behind.

The suspect forcefully took the victim through the area of Capital Crescent Trail and sexually assaulted her before fleeing toward Canal Road, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black male with light brown complexion, short hair, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 230-240 pounds. Police say he has a tattoo on the back of his left hand. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, white shirt with a blue/black striped tie, black pants, and black boots.
