WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - DC police are looking for a suspect who they say fatally shot a man in Columbia Heights late Wednesday night.
According to Metropolitan Police officials, officers were called to the 1400 block of Harvard St. NW around 9:45 p.m. after reports of a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a man in a rear alley suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
MPD's Violent Crimes Branch were called in to conduct the investigation, which is ongoing. Police have few details to release on the suspect, who is described as a black male with a thin build in dark clothing.
Right now there is no information they can release on the victim.
Officers are expected to remain on the scene, which is a couple blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro Station, until daylight.
