Police: DC serial bank robber arrested

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a man in connection with a series of bank robberies in the Washington metro area.

Police said the first robbery happened on June , 2014 at a PNC Bank located in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE. The suspect went up to the teller and passed a note demanding money.

The second robbery happened on June 20, at a Wells Fargo Bank located in the 3200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.

The suspect robbed another Wells Fargo Bank, also on June 20, located in the 1200 block of First Street, NE.

On June 20 the suspect also robbed a TD Bank located in the 1200 block of First Street, NE, authorities said.

Maurice Douglas of SE, D.C. was arrested Tuesday morning and is being charged with bank robbery in connection with all of the above listed locations.
