Police arrest 23-year-old in DC sexual assault

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a 23-year-old man Wednesday in connection with a kidnapping, sexual assault and robbery which happened in the 1500 block of Meridian Place, NW last year.

The Metropolitan Police Department said the incident happened May 6, 2013 around 1 a.m. when a woman and man were sitting in a car. Police said they were approached by two unknown men who pulled out guns and forced them out of the car.

The man was assaulted on the spot and the woman was taken to the 1400 block of Oak Street, NW where she was sexually assaulted. Police said both victims were robbed.

Police arrested Ryan Ramotar, 23, of NE D.C. He was charged with first degree sexual abuse while armed.
