Police arrest 21-year-old in NW homicide

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a homicide that happened in the 1800 block of 8th Street, NW, D.C. Thursday.

Police said the incident happened around 11:34 a.m. when a man was found dead in NW, D.C.

Authorities determined on Friday that the cause of death was from blunt force injuries. The incident has been ruled as a homicide, police said.

According to police, the decedent is 22-year-old Leon Young of NW, D.C.

Authorities arrested 21-year-old Jeffery Bernard Neal, of NW, D.C. on Friday. He is being charged with murder while armed, authorities said.
