One runway reopens at Dulles

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Runways were closed at Reagan National and Dulles International airports on Thursday due to the snow. We're told that one runway at Dulles, 1R/19L, has reopened for arrivals and departures.

Airports remain open though most flights are cancelled, according to Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority officials.

Reagan National Airport officials say the airport received nearly 7 inches of new, wet snow overnight. More snow is expected Thursday night and snow crews will be there to clean roadways.

Dulles received more than a foot of snow overnight. It also has a team doing some snow removal.

Be sure to check your flight status at Dulles International Airport or Reagan National Airport before heading out. You can visit for updates.
