New job training opportunities are coming to DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA) - Mayor Muriel Bowser recently announced a new initiative to train locals on tech jobs.

The initiative will include high school training programs, internships, and apprenticeships.

This is a part of D.C.'s commitment to diversity and inclusion, boosting the innovation economy, and helping residents find local, high-paying tech jobs.

“This is how we spread inclusive prosperity – retain strong businesses and equip more D.C. residents with the skills and knowledge they need to work at them,” said Mayor Bowser.

FiscalNote will also create a series of job training opportunities to help residents enter the technology field. As a part of the plan, the company's headquarters will also stay in D.C.

“The District’s support of FiscalNote is an example of how the government can be innovative in attracting and retaining high-growth tech firms in D.C.,” said Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Brian Kenner. “We look forward to FiscalNote continuing to be a part of positioning the District as the capital of inclusive innovation.”
