WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Global Youth Traffic Safety Month begins in May, and one week from Thursday is the national launch in D.C. It's a time when the National Organization for Youth Safety, NOYS, gets teen leaders from across the country together to develop traffic safety education projects and even come up with ideas for legislation to protect teen drivers.
Kids from our area can join in the launch taking place next Thursday at 10 a.m. at Upper Senate Park. The weekend will include a conference, and you can join contests and even find out about a Traffic Safety Leadership Scholarship worth $2500.
