MPD: 30-year-old shot dead in NE DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- DC police said they found a dead man early Sunday morning in the unit block of N Street in NE, D.C.

According to police, the man was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy is being performed to find out the cause and manner of death.

Officials identified the victim as 30 year-old Yewondwosen Girma Hailemarian, of Fairfax, Va.

Police have no lookouts for a suspect.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
