Monday Metrobus service: planned snow detours in effect

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- WMATA announced Sunday afternoon that Metrobus service is expected to start Monday with planned snow detours in effect.

WMATA said some routes will be adjusted to avoid hilly, narrow streets; riders are encourages to check the website for details:

Due to the forecast weather and road conditions, Metrobus service is expected to begin Monday on a "moderate" snow service plan, WMATA said. Metrobus routes will have planned snow detours in effect to keep buses off of hilly terrain, narrow side street and other problem areas.

WMATA added, most if not all routes are expected to operate under the moderate snow service plan Monday.

In addition, bus service may experience delays due to weather road conditions. WMATA advises all bus riders to allow additional time for travel.
