Metropolitan Police seek suspect in sexual abuse case

WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department needs the public's help locating a suspect wanted for First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed.

The incident occurred Sunday morning between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Police say an adult female was inside her home on Isherwood Street, Northeast when the suspect entered the residence and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was described as a tall, black male in his 40's with a medium to heavy build, short hair and a tattoo on his neck.. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans and armed with a handgun, police say.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text 50411 to send tips to the text tip line.

Police also say: "DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia."
