Metro fare hikes? Board to take official vote

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A committee approved the 2015 Fiscal Year budget for Metro, which includes a 10-cent increase for rail fare and parking. It also include a 15-cent increase for buses but a 5-cent decrease for bus users who pay in cash. According to WUSA9's Surae Chinn this is essentially a flat rate of $1.75.

The fare changes must be approved by the board.

The board is currently meeting.
