42 children injured after charter school bus collides with Metro bus

Dozens of children were injured in a bus collision in Northeast, D.C.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - A charter school bus collided with a Metro bus, injuring 67 people, including 42 children on Eastern Avenue and Randolph Street in Northeast D.C. Thursday afternoon, police said.

The accident, involving the G8 bus headed toward Avondale, occurred around 4:30 p.m.

The children were coming from Ideal Academy Public Charter School in North Capitol.

Minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The children transported to hospital were in good condition Thursday night. 

The crash is still under investigation.
