Man arrested for firing gun down a Metro escalator

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - A new photo shows a man accused of shooting at a victim down the Columbia Heights Metro station. D.C.

Thursday, police released the photo of 22-year-old Cesar Morales.

Morales is accused of pulling out a handgun and firing at the victim on Friday, Aug. 25 at 12:15 p.m.

Columbia Heights is one of the busiest Metro stations.

Police said both the suspect and victim ran away.

Morales was arrested late Thursday for assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any violent offense committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
