Man shot in NE DC ID'd, suspect sought

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- DC police are looking for a man in connection with a shooting that happened in the 600 block of Morris Place NE Friday afternoon.

Police said the man who was shot, 29-year-old Andre Pierce Joyner of Fort Washington, Md. was taken from the scene unconscious and not breathing.

Joyner succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, authorities said.

The suspect is described as a black man about 25-years-old, about 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 250 pounds.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
