Man says he was kidnapped by DC Uber driver

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The D.C. Taxicab Commission says is it investigating one man's report of a wild ride in an Uber car.

That's the car service app that many people are turning to instead of taxis.

Ryan Simonetti tells The Washington Post that he and two colleagues were planning to take an Uber car from Penn Quarter to Tysons Corner.

He says the driver started running red lights and speeding along 395 to the point that Simonetti tried to force him to apply the break.

A taxi inspector was following the whole thing. Now, the commission is waiting to speak with the driver before deciding to file any charges.

Uber tells the Post that driver is no longer active with the company.
