Man arrested for fatal Northwest DC shooting

WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- D.C. police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Northwest Saturday morning.

Thirty-year-old James Johnson has been charged with Second Degree Murder while armed for the death of 48-year-old Talbert Mitchell Bright.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at Massachusetts Avenue and 2nd Street Northwest at about 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to MedStar Washington Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.
