Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, Metro officials said a contractor track unit derailed outside Dunn Loring forcing trains to single track between West Falls Church and Vienna.

Crews have since re-railed the construction vehicle at Dunn Loring and service has been restored.

Also, a track problem outside Van Dorn Street suspended train service on the Blue line between Franconia and Van Dorn St.

Around 7 a.m., service was restored on the Blue line.

Metro riders should expect residual delays.
