Girl with diplomatic status stabbed boy in school, police say

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - A 13-year-old boy was stabbed by a 12-year-old at a school in Northwest D.C., police said Tuesday afternoon.

The girl has been detained. She has not been arrested because of her diplomatic status, police confirmed.

At 12:50 Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a school in the 2000 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW—that's the address for the British International School of Washington. Officers found that a boy had been stabbed multiple times. He’s recovering in a hospital and is expected to survive.

Detectives are working with the D.C. Attorney General’s Offce and the U.S. State Department regarding possible criminal charges.
