Easter Egg Roll ticket lottery opens

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The online lottery to win tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll opened at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The lottery will close on Monday, March 10 at 10 a.m. Signing up for the lottery is free and tickets for winners are free.

This year's Easter Egg Roll will take place on Monday, April 21 on the White House lawn. The event was originally held on Capitol Hill every Monday after Easter, but was moved to the White House in 1878.

The Easter Egg roll includes live entertainment, sports and interactive cooking demonstrations, and, of course, the traditional rolling of the Easter eggs.
