WASHINGTON (AP) - A District man has pleaded guilty in a fatal shooting that investigators believe was linked to marijuana in the victim's apartment.
Thirty-five-year-old Joseph Jennings Jr. pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Matthew Shevlin.

Shevlin was gunned down in January outside his condo in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood near the Washington Convention Center. Authorities said Shevlin may have been targeted for marijuana after police found several jars containing the drug inside his apartment. Police said they also found large and small plants and a bin containing what appeared to be marijuana.
Prosecutors say Jennings and two other men conspired to break into Shevlin's apartment and steal marijuana. Those other suspects were also arrested.
Jennings is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
