DC Man to have Kenny Loggins perform in his living room

To quote the immortal lyrics of Kenny Loggin's 1979 hit "This Is It": "the waiting is over."

Self-proclaimed "Logginsista" Erick Sanchez reached his Kickstarter campaign fundraising goal of $30,000 to get soft rock superstar, Kenny Loggins, to play a gig in his very own living room.

28-year-old Sanchez says he's a huge Kenny Loggins fan and that the music reminds him of riding around in his parent's old Plymouth as a kid.

But how did a guy living in the District's Eastern Market convince the Grammy-winning artist to play a concert in his living room?

Last month, Kenny Loggins launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album, offering up a private concert perk to anyone who raised $30k, and Sanchez seized the opportunity. The PR expert did what he does best, and landed himself a spot on national TV, on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

According to Sanchez, things took off from there: "Next thing I know Kenny Loggins and I are on Skype on a Saturday morning following my launch, and he was just super gracious wished me good luck and after that I was likeā€¦.make this happen."

And Sanchez did make it happen. Loggins will play a show Sanchez's living room, though the details are being kept strictly under wraps.

The event just keeps growing as the concert date grows nearer, on Thursday Comedian H. Jon Benjamin, the title character's voice on FX's Archer just launched his own kickstarter to MC the living room concert.

Sanchez couldn't be happier: "The takeaway is this if you have a crazy idea just go for it, you can definitely make a difference and have some fun along the way."

Right now, Sanchez has raised more than the $30k needed, and his kickstarter campaign still has 9 days to go. Any extra money raised will go to an organization called Imerman's Angels an organization that offers one on one cancer support to survivors. Imerman's Angels holds special significance for Sanchez, because his mom, a breast cancer survivor herself, volunteers for the organization.

Sanchez has created his own website to support the effort, and it is the only way to get seats and livestream the concert as it happens: Logginslivingroom.com
