Congressman staffer arrested for bringing gun to House building

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officials say the press secretary for Rep. Tom Marino was arrested Friday morning for bringing a gun to the Cannon House Office Building.

Ryan Shucard is charged with carrying a pistol without a license -- a felony offense -- after entering the southeast door of the House office building around 9:15 a.m.

A Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun and magazine were discovered during an administrative search required to enter the building.
