AMBER Alert: New photos in DC missing girl case

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The FBI has is now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man believed to have abducted 8-year-old Relisha Rudd and killed his 51-year-old wife.

D.C. Police released a new photo of the accused abductor in an Amber Alert.

The AMBER Alert was sent out on Thursday and two other alerts were sent out since Relisha Rudd was abducted.

Rudd's alleged abductor, Khalil Tatum, 51, of Southeast, DC, has distinct tattoos on his left arm (pictured).

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said, "There is a lot of work being done and a lot of investigative leads being followed up on." She said they are following every tip that comes through.

"No bit of information is too small," she said.

Police believe Relisha is with Tatum, a janitor at the homeless shelter where the girl had been living with her mother and Wheeler killed his wife, then took Rudd with him. On Thursday, while searching for Relisha and Tatum, Prince George's County police found Tatum's wife, beaten to death at a Red Roof Inn on Oxon Hill Road in Prince George's County.

On Friday, authorities there charged Tatum with the death of his wife, Andrea Denise Tatum, 51.

Tatum, of the 2500 block of N Street in Southeast, Washington, is described as a black male, 5'7" and 170 pounds.

Relisha was last seen in the 1900 block of Massachusetts Avenue, SE. Police describe the little girl as a black female, 4' 0" tall, weighing approximately 70 to 80 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. Relisha may also need medication.

The most recent AMBER Alert issued for Relisha was on Saturday at 3:26 p.m., police said in a news conference on Monday.

DC Police's Youth Division officials did confirm the white 1976 GMC pick-up Tatum was believed to be driving was found by Prince George's County Police in Hyattsville early Friday morning. Police are not looking for any more vehicles in this case. Chief Lanier said,"We have recovered every vehicle that is associated with this case within 24 hrs of the AMBER Alert."

Police also said, "When we initially put the information out, we had no indication the child had been taken against her own will."

Another man first connected to the abduction, Rickie Sheridan Lyles, is no longer believed to be with Relisha.

"Just bring my daughter home. That's all I want, just bring my daughter home," said Antonio Wheeler, Relisha's stepfather, pleading with Khalil Tatum.

Anyone with information on Relisha Tenau Rudd's whereabouts is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, Youth Investigations Division at 202-576-6768, or 911. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
